Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC mechanics for commercial service and troubleshooting. You will work with a team to maintain and repair rooftop units, chillers, pumps and related plant equipment, often delivering service quotes on site.

Requirements include extensive HVAC trade experience, union affiliation or willingness to join, and ammonia/hydrocarbon safety certification. The role includes union benefits, training, and a company vehicle as needed.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years Commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience.
• Member or willingness to join United Association (Plumbing & Pipe Fitting).
• Ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification preferred.
• Ability to install chillers, rooftops, pumps and related systems.
• Strong diagnostic and communication skills for field service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and replace commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and ammonia/hydrocarbon components.
• Provide quotes and recommendations to customers at time of service.
• Travel 10%–20% to support branch customers and installation work.
• Participate in safety programs and on‑the‑job training for apprentices.
