Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer/SME to lead fire protection engineering across multiple data center projects, setting design criteria and standards while mentoring staff.

In this role you will collaborate with clients, AHJs and internal teams to deliver reliable, code-compliant fire protection solutions for hyperscale data centers, supporting business development and thought leadership in mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead or SME.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Fire Protection SME for Data Center projects.
• Lead design reviews and QA/QC across multiple projects.
• Develop design criteria, basis of design, and technical standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support staffing/budgets.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines; interface with clients and AHJs.
