Job summary

Hut 8 is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to cover suppression, detection, and life-safety design review across data center projects. You will coordinate with AHJ and FM Global, ensuring code compliance and uptime. Collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams is required to integrate FP systems with BMS and energy storage considerations.

The role demands managing multiple projects, travel 15–25%, and delivering acceptance & commissioning support across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fire protection engineering for data centers, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
• PE in Fire Protection Engineering strongly preferred (or FPE degree with PE path).
• Deep working knowledge of NFPA 13, 72, 75/76, 2001, and 855, and of FM Global data sheets as applied to data centers.

Responsibilities

• Review suppression designs and detection designs for code compliance and program standards.
• Coordinate AHJ plan reviews, variance requests, and inspection support.
• Coordinate FM Global engagement: plan reviews, data sheet compliance, field engineering visits.
