Job summary

CM Mission Critical Engineering, or CM|MC in Atlanta, GA, designs fire protection systems for data centers and mission-critical facilities. The Fire Protection Designer develops construction documents and coordinates with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure clash-free drawings, applying NFPA 13, 14, 20, 72, IBC/IFC, and local amendments.

Under the Fire Protection Engineer of Record's direction, the designer produces detailed sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire alarm layouts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of Fire Protection Design experience.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoSPRINK, or AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Produces highly detailed, coordinated construction drawings across all disciplines.
• Coordinates with internal team members to support project success.
• Integrates into a highly technical team & consistently delivers high-quality work.
• Designs compliant & effective fire protection systems & fire alarm systems.
• Assists with submittal reviews, RFIs, & construction-phase documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned
