Job summary

CM Mission Critical Engineering, LLC is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to develop fire protection system designs for data center and mission-critical facilities, under the Fire Protection Engineer of Record. You will model and layout sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire alarm systems in Revit, ensuring clash-free, constructible drawings.

The role applies NFPA 13/14/20/72 and IBC/IFC with local amendments, coordinating with architects, structural, and MEP teams to deliver precise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent knowledge from education/work experience.
• 2–5 years of Fire Protection Design experience.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoSPRINK, or AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Produces highly detailed, coordinated construction drawings across disciplines.
• Coordinates with internal team members to support project success.
• Integrates into a highly technical team and delivers high-quality work.
• Designs compliant fire protection and fire alarm systems.
• Assists with submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction-phase documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Fire Protection Designer

Reports to: Principal

Job Summary:

The Fire Protection Designer develops fire protection system designs and construction documents for data center and mission-critical facilities, working under the direction of the Fire Protection Engineer of Record. This role models and lays out sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire alarm systems in Revit, coordinating with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to produce clash-free, constructible drawings. The designer applies NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 72, the IBC and IFC, and local amendments to every design.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Produces highly detailed, coordinated construction drawings across all disciplines
• Coordinates with internal team members to support project success
• Integrates into a highly technical team & consistently delivers high-quality work
• Designs compliant & effective fire protection systems & fire alarm systems
• Assists with submittal reviews, RFIs, & construction-phase documentation
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit &/or AutoCAD
• Exceptional Microsoft Office skillset

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field and/or equivalent knowledge gained from education and/or work experience
• 2–5 years of Fire Protection Design experience
• Proficiency in one of the following: Revit, AutoSPRINK, AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes and standards

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk & working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Ability to travel and move throughout construction sites intermittently as required by project needs. p, including H1-B.
