Job summary

Ampcus, Inc. is seeking a Field Services technician to support data center installations in Alpharetta, GA. The role involves hands-on hardware installation, cabling, and testing to ensure reliable network connectivity and power distribution.

Responsibilities include break-fix, remote hands, site audits, and decommissioning with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of data center operations and excellent English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technician in data center operations or similar environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service, interacting directly with customers.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with data center equipment, including safe handling and rack installations.
• Experience reading cut-sheets for physical network installation and cable management.
• Experience with power feeds, redundancy, ATS, hot/cold aisles, and related troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Break-Fix duties including shift work as needed.
• Remote Hands: install and test data center equipment per MOPs and specs.
• Cabling: install and troubleshoot Ethernet/fiber cabling and connectors.
• Optical testing and turn-up using OTDR, VFL, and related test gear.
• Site audits to validate equipment placement and cable lengths.
• Racking, stacking, and maintaining hardware in data center racks.
• Decommissioning: dispose of outdated hardware per policy.
• Power management: manage power feeds, ATS, and hot/cold aisle layouts.
• Documentation: read cut-sheets and ensure correct port connections.
• Ensure safety standards and communicate with multiple departments.
