Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to join our Alpharetta, GA team. The role focuses on maintaining data center facilities, performing rack and stack tasks, and delivering expert optical troubleshooting and network transport support.

Responsibilities include break-fix, remote hands, cabling, and documentation. The engineer will work closely with customers to ensure high reliability and service quality in a dynamic data center environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in data center operations or a similar environment with customer interaction.
• Experience with rack, cabling, stacking, decommissioning, and hardware replacement.
• Familiarity with optical testing/testing equipment and data center protocols.

Responsibilities

• Break-Fix: respond to after-hours needs including nights and weekends as required.
• Perform Remote Hands tasks per MOPs and engineering docs, install and test telecom hardware.
• Cabling, routing, labeling, and testing of Ethernet and fiber cables and components.
• Site audits to validate equipment placement and cable lengths, documenting results.
• Racking and stacking hardware in standard data center racks per SOPs.
• Provide oversight of third parties on-site activities.
