Job summary

Astreya is seeking an experienced field engineer to verify fiber deployment builds, maintain splice plans and port maps, and lead the field teams across multiple sites. This role requires hands-on testing, documentation, and strong coordination with vendors.

You will own prework reviews, witness testing, and daily reporting, while mentoring junior engineers and refining processes for repeatable success in fast-paced data-center environments. Travel up to 100% is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data center fiber deployment, verification, or operations.
• Expert at reading/correcting design packages, splice plans, port maps and test specs.
• Hands-on fusion splicing, end-face inspection, OTDR, loss, and polarity testing.
• Familiar with TIA 568/942, IEC 61300-3-35, and procedure driven work.
• Proficient with fiber management and DCIM systems of record.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites and meet SLAs.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Verify builds at sites, inspect workmanship, and sign off readiness.
• Own documentation: splice plans, maps, elevations, and one-line diagrams.
• Lead the field: prework reviews, witness testing, coaching installers, dispatch.
• Refine checklists, templates, and acceptance criteria; mentor juniors.
• Produce readiness and verification reports within 2 business days.
