Job summary

Astreya is seeking a senior field engineer to verify builds at data center sites, manage splice plans, port maps, and as-built documentation, and lead installation teams across multiple sites.

You will travel up to 100%, perform critical testing (OTDR, loss, polarity), and ensure readiness while coordinating with vendors and field technicians. This role offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years in data center fiber deployment, verification, or operations.
• Expert at reading, creating, and correcting design packages, splice plans, port maps, elevations, and test specs.
• Hands-on: fusion splicing, end face inspection, OTDR, insertion and return loss, polarity testing.
• Proficiency with TIA 568, TIA 942, IEC 61300 3 35, and procedure-driven work.
• Experience with fiber management and DCIM systems of record.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across sites and meet SLAs.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Verify builds by walking sites before install and auditing workmanship.
• Own documentation: splice plans, port maps, rack elevations, one-line diagrams.
• Lead field activities: prework reviews, witness testing, issue escalation, dispatch management.
• Refine checklists and training materials based on field feedback.
• Generate readiness and defect trend reports within 2 business days.
