Job summary

SpaceXAI in Mississippi is seeking a Facilities Operations Technician to operate and maintain critical MEP systems in our supercomputing data centers. You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to reliability and efficiency of the infrastructure that powers our AI-driven research.

This role evolves through three levels: Technician, Senior Technician, and Operations Lead, with increasing responsibility and mentoring of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of hands-on operations/facilities work experience in lieu of degree (data center experience preferred).
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles and systems.
• Experience with critical systems documentation (Plans, Procedures, and Operations Manuals).
• Experience with Building Power Monitoring Systems and Operations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLC-based control systems and/or Building Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for MEP Infrastructure site safety and environmental compliance.
• Provide operational expertise for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in the datacenter facility.
• Routinely inspect all areas to ensure performance measures are maintained and report problems.
• Write and execute MOPs, SOPs, EOPs.
• Perform daily inspections of critical systems.
• Identify and maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate and supervise scheduled system shutdowns.
• Develop and implement energy monitoring metrics.
• Support commissioning efforts by witnessing equipment startup and testing progress.
