Job summary

SpaceXAI in Mississippi is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to build, activate, and maintain data center infrastructure. You will work with engineers and technicians to ensure peak performance, manage multiple projects, and contribute to cutting‑edge space technology initiatives.

The role requires hands‑on skills in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems, strong safety discipline, and the ability to read schematics and reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and customers to maintain systems in peak operating condition and develop/update detailed work instructions for preventative maintenance.
• Maintain and repair HVAC support equipment including air handlers, chilled water, pumps, cooling towers, valves, and filters.
• Perform ductwork modifications, brazing, soldering, evacuation & charging of refrigerants, water piping, insulation modifications and repairs.
• Assemble, install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, heating, water, and drainage systems per specifications and codes.
• Perform hands-on shop work or on-site disassembly, inspection, reporting, cleaning, troubleshooting, reassembly, and testing of pumps and other mechanical equipment.
• Ensure work and materials comply with manufacturer specifications.
• Read and interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly as required.
• Conduct failure assessments and daily safety inspections with recommendations to supervisor.
• Adjust and fabricate mechanical parts using hand and machine tools for repairs/upgrades.
• Present information on equipment maintenance statuses for internal and external customers.
• Operate forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack, boom lift, work truck, and overhead crane.
• Written and verbal communication, MS Outlook and Teams usage.
• Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX systems.
• Take on additional responsibilities and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
• Follow site compliance with SpaceXAI, local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
