Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join our critical infrastructure team. You will perform hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in mission‑critical facilities, ensuring 99.999% uptime across AWS data centers.

Responsibilities include monitoring electrical gear, BMS/EPMS, PM tasks, rack installs/decommissioning, and on-site coordination with contractors. Flex shifts up to 12 hours and travel between sites are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work follows practices and local laws.
• Shift changes up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
