Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join its AWS Data Center Operations team in the Ashburn region.

The role focuses on hands-on maintenance, fault resolution, and project execution for mission-critical facilities including standby generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC, chillers, cooling towers, and water systems. Role requires frequent site travel, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work on-site with contractors.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel between data center locations.
• Willingness to work at alternative sites during training or until facility is operational.
• Able to lift up to 39 pounds and perform physical maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Management System.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Write technical documentation for change management.
• Manage daily work requests and drive projects from conception to completion.
• Provide on-site support to contractors and vendors per established practices.
