Job summary

Amazon in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical infrastructure, including diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, cooling, and fire/life safety systems. You’ll be on the front line for preventative maintenance and rapid troubleshooting across multiple data center locations.

This role requires travel between sites, flexible shifts up to 12 hours, and the ability to work with contractors.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of electrical or mechanical, or data center/mission-critical facilities experience.
• 1+ year of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor equipment and ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• Carry out PM, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
