Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Stafford, VA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to monitor and maintain critical infrastructure, ensuring high reliability and uptime. You will work with electrical and mechanical systems, support BMS/EPMS, and coordinate with contractors to keep data centers operating smoothly.

The role requires travel between data center locations, willingness to train at different sites, and the ability to lift and operate heavy equipment as part of normal duties.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work performed aligns with practices and local regulations.
• Work schedule changes depending on site needs; shifts up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations on-call.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
