Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities across multiple site locations. You will work on standby generators, UPS, switchgear, cooling systems, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure maximum uptime.

Daily rounds, BMS/EPMS monitoring, rack installs, PM tasks, and liaison with contractors form the core of the role. Travel to data center sites is required, and shifts can be up to 12 hours with on-call

Qualifications

2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
2+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.
Willingness to travel between data center locations.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
Write technical documents to support change management.
Manage daily work requests and drive to resolution, including project execution.
On-site support of contractors and vendors per established practices and laws.
