Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to sustain 99.999% uptime across mission-critical facilities. You will perform daily rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, and support rack installs, repairs, and change management.

This on-site role in Sterling, VA requires flexibility, lifting up to 39 pounds, and travel between sites. Shifts include days/nights and potential on-call rotations; relocation stipend may be provided.

Qualifications

1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
High school or equivalent diploma.
1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Technical writing to support change management program.
Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
Work schedule changes depending on specific site needs. Shifts can be up to 12-hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule. Some locations have on-call rotations.
Role may support more than one location/site.
