Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Mesa, AZ seeks a Data Center Engineering Technician to monitor and maintain mission-critical facilities, including electrical and mechanical systems, generators, and cooling infrastructure.

You’ll operate and troubleshoot data-center equipment, ensuring safety and uptime. You will collaborate with diverse teams across AWS, support change management, and travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years of MS Office applications experience.
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to practices and local legislation.
• Shift up to 12 hours and potential on-call rotations; role may cover multiple locations/sites.
