About The Role

As the Technical Manager at CBRE Data Center Solutions, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert and oversee Critical Environment Risk Management (CERM) Governance. Your responsibilities include providing technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems, supporting site operations, and managing risk management processes to ensure the stability and safety of critical environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversight of SHIELD/CERM implementation and reporting
  • Client contract review and critical infrastructure documentation management
  • Site operational roles and staffing analysis
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery planning
  • Training, mock drills, and incident support
  • Maintenance planning and operational procedures development
  • Critical infrastructure capacity management and root cause analysis
  • Risk register management and airflow management
Leadership & Communication
  • Experienced leader with 10+ years managing facility engineering teams
  • Strategic planning and execution skills
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
Technical Skills & Software Proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Power BI
  • Experience with CMMS, BMS, DCIM, EPMS, Bluebeam, CAD
  • Report writing and work order analysis
Technical Expertise & Knowledge
  • Operation and maintenance of data center infrastructure (generators, UPS, PDU, ATS, chillers, CRAHs, CRACs, water systems)
  • Reading electrical diagrams and understanding HVAC calculations
  • Knowledge of electrical standards (NFPA 70, NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B), industry standards (ASHRAE, OCP), and maintenance practices
  • Understanding of energy efficiency metrics and sustainable practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Professional Engineering License (a plus)
  • 3-5 years in data center design or operations
  • Leadership and organizational skills, advanced math skills
