About The Role

As the Technical Manager at CBRE Data Center Solutions, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert and oversee Critical Environment Risk Management (CERM) Governance. You will provide technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems, supporting site operations. Additionally, you will manage CERM processes, including KPI reporting and risk mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and stability of critical environments. A strong engineering background is essential for supporting operational reliability and risk management.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee SHIELD/CERM implementation and reporting
  • Review client contracts for requirements
  • Manage critical infrastructure drawings and documentation
  • Define site operational roles and responsibilities
  • Conduct staffing analysis
  • Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Coordinate qualification and human error training
  • Organize mock scenario drills
  • Plan maintenance activities
  • Develop operational procedures (SOP, EOP, MOP)
  • Support incident response
  • Plan critical work activities
  • Manage infrastructure capacity
  • Conduct root cause analyses and post-incident reports
  • Maintain risk registers
  • Manage data center airflow strategies
Leadership & Communication
  • Experienced leader with 10+ years managing facility engineering teams
  • Ability to lead strategic initiatives and adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent communication skills tailored to diverse audiences
Technical Skills & Software Proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Teams/Power BI
  • Experience with CMMS, BMS, DCIM, EPMS
  • Bluebeam and CAD software skills
  • Report writing and work order analysis
Technical Expertise & Knowledge
  • Operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure (generators, UPS, PDU, ATS, chillers, CRAHs, CRACs, water systems)
  • Reading electrical diagrams and understanding HVAC calculations
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA 70, 70E, 70B, ASHRAE, OCP)
  • Preventative and predictive maintenance principles
  • Energy efficiency metrics (PUE, WUE) and sustainable practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering (preferred)
  • Professional Engineering License (a plus)
  • 3-5 years experience in data center design and/or operations
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Strong organizational and mathematical skills
