Job summary

Hut 8 is seeking an Engineering Lead to own the data center project's engineering scope, coordinating mechanical, electrical, and BMS/controls with shared design resources. You will drive cross-discipline issue resolution, chair stage-gate reviews, and ensure design baselines meet the customer requirements and commissioning needs.

You will mentor discipline engineers, oversee critical vendor packages, and guide field engineering support to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering experience on data center or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams on major capital projects.
• Fluency across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems with deep expertise in at least one area.
• Owner’s-side or EPC design management on projects of $250M+ construction value.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; a PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead discipline engineers (electrical, mechanical, BMS/controls) and shared resources.
• Drive cross-discipline issue resolution and set technical direction for projects.
• Own engineering baseline and ensure alignment with design reviews and commissioning requirements.
• Oversee vendor packages and ensure equipment ratings and integration meet project needs.
• Support field engineering with RFIs, field changes, and constructability considerations.
• Lead stage-gate design reviews and close out comments on schedule.
