Job summary

Hut 8 is seeking an Architectural Engineer to serve as a shared resource for building envelope, layouts, and code compliance across data center projects. The role supports permitting, design coordination, and ensures envelope performance, egress, and code compliance are right across the portfolio.

You will review architectural packages for durability and program standards, coordinate life-safety plans with engineers and AHJs, and drive permit submittals while maintaining architectural standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years architectural/architectural-engineering experience on industrial, mission-critical, or large commercial buildings.
• Strong working knowledge of IBC, egress and life-safety design, fire-rated assemblies, and accessibility.
• Envelope expertise: air/vapor barriers, roofing systems, detailing that endures value engineering.
• Experience running AHJ plan review cycles to approval across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proficiency reviewing Revit-based packages, specifications, and construction submittals.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural packages across projects for code compliance, durability, and program standards; verify layouts support equipment movement, maintenance access, and security layering.
• Own review of occupancy classification, egress design, and life-safety; coordinate plans with AHJ and Fire Protection Engineer.
• Support building permit submittals and drive AHJ plan-review comments to resolution with design partners.
• Review envelope details for constructability and performance; support field on water-tightness milestones that gate MEP rough-in.
• Coordinate architectural scope with structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and security teams; respond to RFIs and maintain standards across the portfolio.
