Job summary

Unisys seeks a Provider Field Engineer to perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and installation of Dell products at customer locations in the United States. You will follow Dell guidance, execute action plans, and document results with logs and part numbers.

The role includes firmware upgrades, parts management, and server validation. A strong background in hardware service and at least a High School diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot and repair Dell products at customer sites.
• Order parts and perform preventative maintenance per Dell/Dell Domain Engineer instructions.
• Install and validate Dell hardware and firmware.
• Document service activities and parts details for Dell case records.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot issues with direction from Dell Support.
• Execute action plans from Dell Domain Engineer/L3.
• Document POA results, logs and service reports to Dell via case email.
• Reseat, swap or replace parts; test servers and upload logs.
• Manage parts lockers and spare parts during deployments.

What success looks like in this role:

• Provider Field Engineers will provide troubleshooting, repair, parts ordering, preventative maintenance and Installation of Dell product located at Customer Site.
• Triage issues with direction from Dell Support
• Execute plan of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3
• Document POA Results, logs and service reports (Parts numbers/PPID of old/new parts replaced) to Dell via case email
• Reseating parts, swap or replace parts
• Server Testing and validation (running diagnostics, capturing and uploading logs)
• Upgrading Firmware as needed
• Parts locker management, manage inbound and outbound parts
• Spare parts management, separate from parts locker (during CW server deployments)
• Parts return to Dell

You will be successful in this role if you have:

High School Diploma or GED required May require technical certification or Associate Degree Generally, 4-6 years’ experience in area of responsibility #LI-JV1 This role may require access to export-controlled commodities and technology. Therefore, to conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
