TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Engineer for a contract role based in Sparks, NV. The position demands hands-on work with data center hardware, compute farms, and DC infrastructure, including Linux administration and shell scripting.

You will collaborate with system architects, hardware/software engineers, and QA to build and maintain next‑generation compute environments. The role focuses on uptime, performance, and reliability—managing a high‑performing compute farm, leading recovery

Qualifications

• Experience with data center hardware, labs or HPC environments.
• Linux administration and troubleshooting in dense data center designs.
• Familiarity with DC infrastructure, liquid cooling, compute, storage, networking.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, debug, and release compute infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain a high‑performing compute farm of builders and testers.
• Ensure availability targets are met and lead recovery efforts.
• Support hardware and software teams with issues and incident response.
• Document SOPs and capture critical metrics.
• Troubleshoot Linux, hardware and infra issues with engineers and operations teams.
• Drive efficiency improvements to meet SLAs and metrics.
