Job summary

Referment is seeking a Data Center Engineer to support critical infrastructure behind its global operations. The role covers data centres, colocation facilities and internal equipment rooms, from installing hardware to troubleshooting and capacity planning.

The position is based at data-centre sites in New Jersey with occasional visits across the New York metropolitan area. Some evenings and weekends may be required, so reliable transport and flexibility are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Two to seven years of relevant infrastructure, systems or data-centre experience.
• Hands-on systems administration, particularly server hardware and troubleshooting.
• Strong organisation, judgement and attention to detail.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends, plus reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations across data-centre sites and keep work prioritised effectively.
• Build, install and troubleshoot servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and copper and fibre cabling.
• Support data-centre buildouts, migrations and infrastructure projects.
• Manage site capacity and contribute to forecasts for future infrastructure requirements.
• Improve operating processes, policies and automation.
• Work with internal teams and external vendors to deliver projects.
