Job summary

Meta’s Energy Team is seeking a commercially-experienced energy professional to grow and manage our data center portfolio, focusing on electricity and natural gas in regulated markets and market operators across the United States.

You will negotiate with utilities, pipelines, and marketers, influence rate cases, and develop new supply solutions including bridge power, on-site generation, and behind-the-meter arrangements, collaborating with legal, finance, site selection, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years navigating commercial energy issues across electricity and/or natural gas.
• Experience representing business interests to suppliers, utilities, pipelines, governments and regulators.
• Knowledge of transmission, distribution, and interconnection processes; natural gas transportation, storage and interconnection.
• Experience negotiating energy supply or fuel agreements (PPAs, ESAs, tariffs, or gas contracts).
• Experience managing multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate complex commercial/regulatory details to all levels.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage commercial relationships for data centers across US energy markets.
• Influence rate-making and energy supply solutions through regulatory processes.
• Develop relationships with key utility partners, regulators and stakeholders.
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements for electricity, generation and fuel supply.
• Source and execute natural gas supply, transportation and storage agreements.
• Support development of bridge power, on-site generation and behind-the-meter projects.
• Evaluate gas market fundamentals and translate into siting and cost recommendations.
• Collaborate with legal to refine commercial arrangements for facilities.
• Assist Site Selection in identifying US locations with energy infrastructure.
• Interface with internal teams including data center staff, sustainability, policy, and finance.
• Support Meta's energy supply strategy and communicate market trends to management.
• Lead and support energy projects and travel domestically as needed.
