Job summary

BuildNowis is seeking an experienced Electrical Instructor to lead a 3-week, 150-hour training track for entry-level electricians in data center environments. The role blends classroom teaching with extensive hands-on labs, emphasizing safety, trade math, conduit work, wiring, and NEC compliance.

You will guide students through a capstone build, assess progress, and ensure OSHA 10 certification readiness, while maintaining documentation and safety leadership in a hands-on lab setting in the

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years hands-on electrician experience with critical facility construction.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain); must be qualified to deliver or coordinate OSHA 10.
• Working knowledge of NEC and current code cycle.
• Experience with conduit bending (EMT/rigid), wire pulling, device wiring, continuity/meter testing, and LOTO.
• Strong understanding of DC electrical theory (Ohm's Law, series/parallel/mixed).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain concepts to entry-level learners.
• Ability to create/adapt lesson plans and maintain training documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; in-person teaching capability in Dallas area.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured daily lesson plans across a 3-week, 150-hour curriculum in construction and electrical safety.
• Balance classroom instruction with hands-on lab time (60% lab hours per week).
• Teach and assess PPE, jobsite safety, GFCI and continuity testing, trade math, blueprint literacy, and LOTO.
• Facilitate OSHA 10 certification training and ensure completion of requirements.
• Guide students through a hands-on capstone build with documentation and final presentation.
• Administer skills verifications, knowledge checks, and final program evaluations.
