Job summary
Mortenson is seeking an Engineer III/IV - Data Center Application Electrical Engineer in the Minneapolis area to provide early-stage design and lifecycle support for data center projects. The role collaborates with Engineering Services, Supply Chain, and construction teams to optimize designs and ensure performance objectives across pursuit, design, procurement, and commissioning phases.
Ideal candidates have a strong background in power systems for data centers, familiarity with MV/LV
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience leading standards, equipment strategies and cross-functional tech decisions.
- Experience supporting pursuits, design development, commissioning and turnover for power systems.
Responsibilities
- Review requirements, identify risks and clarify inputs for data center electrical systems.
- Provide application-level engineering support for MV/LV switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers and related equipment.
- Coordinate with designers, procurement, construction and vendors to resolve issues.
- Review drawings, sequences, and test requirements to ensure standards alignment.
- Support startup, testing, commissioning and turnover activities.
