Job summary

Decima International is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Technician to support independent commissioning of electrical systems on data center projects across the United States. Under a Commissioning Engineer, you will perform inspections, tests, and documentation to ensure correct installation, safe energization, and ready-for-load conditions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commissioning experience on electrical systems.
• 2 to 3 years of experience on data center projects.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Experience using test equipment such as insulation testers, micro-ohmmeters, power quality meters, and thermal imagers.
• Current NFPA 70E training.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training, or the ability to obtain it.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate field documentation.
• Authorization to work in the United States and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Ability to travel 50-75%, work extended site assignments, lift 50 lbs, and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Inspect delivered and installed electrical equipment against drawings and submittals.
• Perform and witness installation and static checks: terminations, torque, insulation resistance, polarity, phase rotation, grounding, and relay settings.
• Witness contractor and vendor testing: primary/secondary injection, breaker testing, thermography.
• Support energization, startup, and Level 4 functional testing.
• Support Integrated Systems Testing: load scenarios and shift coverage.
• Document deficiencies with photos and descriptions; track corrective actions.
• Complete checklists, test scripts, and daily reports in the commissioning platform.
• Follow NFPA 70E safety practices and permit requirements.
• Maintain independent reporting per company policy.
