Job summary

Ascent, LLC is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to support operation of a data center in West Des Moines, IA. You will assist in coordinating field activities, managing critical equipment, and ensuring uptime with maintenance and vendor oversight.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Critical Facilities Manager and operations team to maintain 99.9999% uptime and cost-effective operations. A background in electrical/HVAC systems and building controls is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Critical Facilities Technician or other relevant experience.
• Knowledge of building automation systems and life safety, mechanical, plumbing, and power related activities.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project; AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing on-site field coordination supervision and project management support for the operation of a critical facility.
• Assist in management of mission critical equipment used to operate and maintain facility.
• Assist in management of systems and physical environment integration (life safety, mechanical, plumbing, and power related activities and issues).
• Report discrepancies and trends to the management and clients.
• Assist in overseeing maintenance schedules and providers.
• Oversee subcontractors to assure proper installation and delivery of maintenance services.
• Troubleshoot emergencies, equipment problems, and technical issues; organize resolutions.
