Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking a Critical Environments Operating Engineer to maintain mission-critical data center infrastructure and ensure 100% uptime for client operations. You will manage operation, monitoring and maintenance of UPS, generators, cooling, and medium‑voltage systems in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a data center or critical facility environment.
• Experience with mission-critical building systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, P.D. equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; can document activities clearly.
• Proficient with MS Office, Google Suite, and a CMMS.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.
• Willingness to work varied schedules and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all critical building systems to ensure 100% uptime, including fire/life safety, HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, plumbing, controls, UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution, and transformers.
• Monitor, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, air-conditioning equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical systems for optimal performance.
• Record equipment readings, analyze operations, identify problems, and take corrective action as needed.
• Manage work orders through CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and respond to tickets promptly.
• Learn and understand the data center infrastructure to manage incidents and events that impact critical systems.
• Adhere to emergency escalation procedures and respond to site emergencies to protect operations.
• Maintain safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials; keep the workplace clean and compliant.
