Job summary

Google seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer for Data Center Services in North America to drive electrical design, construction, and commissioning of high-velocity data center infrastructure. You will lead cross-functional teams, ensure safety and reliability, and champion continuous improvement across projects.

You will coordinate Basis of Design development, provide on-site expertise, and mentor engineers while collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet aggressive schedules and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• 12 years of experience in electrical design, operations, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
• 12 years as a practicing engineer.
• 5 years in leadership roles.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support and leadership to on-site DCS teams across North America, sharing lessons learned, best practices, and advocating continuous improvement.
• Represent DCS in development, implementation, and management of electrical designs at site and regional portfolio level.
• Act as escalation point for on-site engineers for RFIs.
• Collaborate with core engineering to develop Basis of Design and coordinate schematics.
• Provide leadership to on-site DCS engineers, GCs, and vendors during project execution.
