Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in New Carlisle, Indiana, is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead scope, schedule, and budget for new builds and capital projects across multiple data centers.

You will oversee construction management activities, collaborate with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning, and represent the owner's side on-site daily, ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets are met.

Qualifications

• Experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large scale power distribution/generation gear and mechanical engineering systems including cooling systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent engineering science plus 7+ years of relevant construction experience, OR 11+ years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree.
• 6+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants.
• 6+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI and submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Be Amazon’s construction representative on multiple data center sites from start to hand-off.
• Interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and close-out.
• Create construction project scope and RFQ/RFP materials.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids.
• Manage cost, schedule, and quality with contractors and vendors.
• Drive root-cause analysis on equipment failures and support commissioning.
• Support capital requests and report construction metrics.
