Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Dallas, TX is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead construction projects for new and existing data centers. You will own scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security and Commissioning teams.

You will drive cost control, manage vendors and contractors on site daily, and ensure build quality and resiliency of critical infrastructure across large mechanical and electrical plants.

Qualifications

• Experience defining data center system‑level architecture, documenting performance and equipment requirements, creating and communicating conceptual designs.
• Experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large‑scale mechanical, electrical and plumbing plants.
• Experience with data centers or critical infrastructure construction and project execution.
• 12+ years of contractor and vendor management related to construction and project execution.
• 12+ years managing complex MEP systems including power distribution and cooling in mission‑critical environments.
• Travel expected 50‑75%.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction contractors during bidding, award, execution and closeout phases.
• Negotiate with contractors and evaluate bids with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and RFPs.
• Perform financial analysis of construction.
• Manage projects to improve resiliency of data centers.
• Conduct constructability reviews of electrical/mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
• Manage construction documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders and invoicing.
• Ensure project quality control.
• Record and report key construction metrics to team and management.
• Lead teams and internal/external partners in troubleshooting and root‑cause analyses.
