Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Senior Construction Manager in Kansas City, KS to oversee all phases of data center construction—from initial development to commissioning and lifecycle replacements. You will collaborate with design managers, procurement, sales, and operations while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and vendors.

You will lead schedules, budgets, and risk management, ensuring projects align with DLR standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or related field.
• 7–10 years of project management experience with technically complex projects.
• Strong project management, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects and working effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; highly self-motivated.
• Working knowledge of construction terminology, design principles, and contract structures.
• Financial acumen to interpret and develop budgets, estimates, and cost analyses.
• Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, security/monitoring, and fire/life-safety systems.
• Familiarity with building code requirements and standard design/construction practices.
• Ability to interpret design drawings, construction specifications, contracts, schedules, and budget summaries; proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of data center construction projects from greenfield through commissioning.
• Lead contractors, consultants, and vendors to meet on-time, on-budget targets.
• Coordinate with design managers, procurement, sales, and operations teams.
• Serve as primary customer contact for Build‑to‑Suit projects.
• Create and maintain project schedules; report updates to stakeholders.
• Support preparation and evaluation of RFPs and negotiate contracts.
• Ensure compliance with design and project delivery standards.
• Build relationships with contractor, consultant, and vendor partners.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
• Conduct site visits for meetings, audits, and issue resolution.
