Job summary

AWS Data Center Construction Manager will lead construction projects for new data centers, owning scope, schedule, budget, and quality. You will interface with general contractors and cross-functional teams to deliver resilient infrastructure on time and within cost.

The role requires strong experience in project management for data centers, knowledge of electrical and mechanical designs, and ability to read construction drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience taking new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals.
• Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction.
• Manage construction projects for initiatives increasing data center resiliency.
• Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
• Manage construction documents including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
• Ensure construction project quality control.
• Record and report key construction metrics.
• Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Be a leader within the group and cross-functional teams.
