Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a General Superintendent to oversee field operations on large-scale data center construction projects in Jackson, MS. You will lead Superintendents, Foremen, and subcontractors, driving safety, schedule adherence, budget alignment, and quality from start to turnover.

You will collaborate with project management, engineers, and owners to ensure successful mission-critical facilities, manage workforce planning, and maintain client satisfaction throughout project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of commercial or industrial construction experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or General Superintendent.
• Extensive experience delivering mission-critical, data center, industrial, semiconductor, healthcare, or advanced manufacturing projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction systems (structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil).
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, or similar CM software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for field operations on data center construction projects.
• Mentor superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and craft personnel.
• Develop and implement construction execution plans aligned with schedules.
• Coordinate field operations with PMs, engineers, and trade partners.
• Lead planning meetings and monitor critical path activities.
• Ensure manpower, equipment, and materials are properly allocated.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, safety, and quality.
• Support procurement and long-lead material coordination.
• Oversee commissioning, punch list, turnover, and closeout.
• Maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
