Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled Cost Engineer to join our Phoenix area data center team. You will manage and analyze costs for data center construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing budgets, forecasting costs, tracking performance metrics, and presenting reports to project managers. You will collaborate with procurement, contracts, and field teams to optimize cost control and planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and services.
• Perform comprehensive cost analysis and forecasting to ensure projects stay within budget.
• Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present detailed cost reports and progress updates to project managers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project teams, procurement, and contract management to ensure cost control and planning advice.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in project design and execution.
• Engage and manage third-party quantity surveyors and validate construction cost estimates.
• Update and maintain a repository for historical cost data to inform future projects.
• Define and track cost performance metrics, leading monthly cost reporting and analysis.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
