Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Commissioning Manager to oversee a full lifecycle of commissioning on complex industrial projects. You will define, lead, and execute pre-commissioning through handover, ensuring safety, quality, value, and schedule adherence.

You will manage a cross-functional team, coordinate with QC/MEP, and drive start-up activities in line with project plans and client requirements. A high travel expectation applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or 10–15 years of equivalent field experience.
• At least eight years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with MEP contractors.
• Expert understanding of design, construction, start-up commissioning and turnover within the project delivery process.
• Mastery of commissioning process L0-L5 and QA/QC relationships.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Manage site-end-to-end Commissioning activities during Level 1 through Level 5 for new or retrofit facilities.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, trade partners and operations to streamline delivery and compliance.
• Implement policies to support schedule, contractual obligations and fully compliant projects.
• Coordinate with QC and MEP teams for checklists, docs, and commissioning plans.
• Lead Start-up and Commissioning meetings to communicate QC plan and schedule updates.
• Define on-site resource requirements for trade partners, equipment vendors and staff.
• Integrate Start-up/Commissioning schedules into project timelines with proper sequencing.
• Collaborate with OFCI vendors for installations and provide field documentation and checklists.
• Ensure documentation and installation quality prior to energization and turnover.
• Understand client/GC obligations and commissioning plans established by the Commissioning Agent.
