Job summary
The Department of Administrative Services, Data Center Services, Salem, Oregon, seeks a Colocation Technician (Information Systems Specialist 6) to provide hands-on system support, provisioning leadership, and customer assistance for datacenter operations and remote sites.
This on-site role requires strong problem-solving, ticketing, and collaboration with technical teams; responsibilities include deployment, network and power provisioning, and 24/7 readiness where needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in data center operations or equivalent.
- Assoc degree or two-year IT program plus experience required; 3+ years in data center operations.
- Bachelor's degree + 1 year data center ops experience also acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical, troubleshooting, provisioning leadership and inventory support for Data Center Services’ systems and remote sites.
- Lead provisioning for colocation spaces and infrastructure services, ensuring timely deployment of network, power, and hardware installations.
- Assist customers on Data Center floor and via phone; manage tickets in the ticketing system; escalate alerts as needed.
