Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Civil Engineer to join our Americas design team in Columbus, OH, Seattle, WA or Herndon, VA.

You will lead civil engineering designs for data centers and work with architects, engineers, and vendors to deliver scalable, reliable facilities. As a subject matter expert, you will develop site layouts using Civil 3D, oversee external consultants, ensure compliance with standards, and help optimize cost, schedule, and quality across fast-paced

Responsibilities

Manage external civil design consultants through the Data Center design and construction process.
Review site layout, grading, power substations, storm water, and utilities.
Coordinate with internal and external architectural, structural, and MEP design engineers.
Develop preliminary site layout concepts using Civil 3D and maintain design evolution
Communicate design standards to internal and external partners.
Create and maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
Develop design standards, prototypes, and template specifications for site design.
Create, review, and release design RFPs for DCs and program facilities.
Manage multiple fast paced projects; align TPM expectations on cost/schedule.
Lead initiatives to improve cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
Travel for site assessments and interface with authorities.
