Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong CFD focus to design and optimize HVAC systems for mission-critical data centers. You will work with in-house engineering and architecture teams to meet standards from scope development to commissioning and startup.

The role emphasizes CFD simulations, HVAC system optimization, and collaboration across Electrical, Structural, and Controls teams. Flexible hybrid or remote work options are offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
• 8+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience, preferably in data centers.
• Hands-on CFD modeling with Cadence and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs, technical plans, specifications, drawings, and 3D models.
• Perform CFD simulations to analyze airflow, temperature distribution, and cooling effectiveness.
• Design and optimize HVAC systems including CRAH/CRAC units, chillers, containment, and ductwork.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into packages.
• Support commissioning and field verifications, and manage RFIs and submittals.
