Job summary

Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience working within a data center environment.
• 3 years of in-depth knowledge of network cabling and optic types.
• 3 years’ experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• 3 years’ experience troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Experience in data centers, telco, IT operations, or related technical field is required.
• Server/OS/Data center certifications are a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Professional, accurate, urgent, and quality-focused.

Responsibilities

• Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
• Install, set, and level network cabinets; cut and install uni-strut and fiber troughs.
• Install pull strings through conduits, in ceilings, and down walls; label/install copper and fiber jumpers.
• Perform 4-pair continuity testing and quality workmanship; maintain Data Center cleanliness.
• Follow production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles; read blueprints and documentation.
