Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Data Center Technician (Technician 1) to install and maintain low voltage cabling in a data center environment.

You will run cables, connect wires, and ensure proper installation of internal infrastructure under supervision, indoors or outdoors, with safety protocols. You will read blueprints, perform terminations and labeling, and test copper and fiber while collaborating with stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Must understand customer service.
• Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
• Be able to read and understand floor plans.
• Should be familiar with wiring schemes and wiring testing.
• Should be able to pull all types of low voltage cable.
• Capable of performing field terminations and labeling.
• Reports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from various senior technicians.
• Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork and running service jobs.
• Experience with MDF/IDF layouts and cable dressing.
• Capable of working in Data Centers and installing ladder racking and seismic bracing.

• Install/decommission network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, with improvement in mind.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
• Follow production, safety and quality standards, codes, and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read blueprints and design documents.
• Understand Data Center infrastructure technologies.
