Job summary

SOLID Personnel is seeking a Data Center Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and organization of critical infrastructure inside data centers in the Fredericksburg, VA area. The role emphasizes structured cabling, rack and stack, and equipment installation in secure facilities.

Responsibilities include cable termination/testing, reading blueprints, and assisting with cabinet buildouts, with attention to safety, OSHA guidelines, and proper PPE usage.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to report to jobsite daily with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, and secure copper and fiber optic cabling in data center environments.
• Perform rack and stack of servers, switches, patch panels, and network equipment.
• Install and secure ladder rack, basket tray, cable tray, and overhead systems.
• Terminate and test CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cables.
• Read blueprints, rack elevations, and cable schedules to support installations.
• Assist with equipment mounting, hardware installation, and cabinet buildouts.
• Support hot aisle and cold aisle containment setups.
• Maintain cleanliness of white space and electrical rooms.
