Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Cable Technician (Level 1) in Goose Creek, SC to install and route low-voltage cabling within a data centre environment. This entry-level role requires standing and lifting 50+lbs, reliability, and eagerness to learn under experienced technicians.

The position covers outdoor/indoor work on extended shifts, with safety training and PPE adherence, including OSHA 10. Growth into leadership roles is possible within TEKsystems' structured teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in physically demanding environments such as construction, trades, or military.
• Comfort working on ladders and lifts during 10-hour shifts.
• Ability to work 10-hour days outside in hot/cold weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Pull and route cabling in the data centre adhering to installation standards and safety guidelines.
• Support low-voltage cable pulling, ensuring cables are organized, secured and labelled.
• Assemble, stack and drill equipment racks as directed by technicians.
• Scan, label and port equipment for accurate identification and documentation.
• Assist with general installation tasks and basic tool use under supervision.
• Work safely on ladders and lifts during extended shifts.
• Follow site safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Maintain attention to detail in labeling, routing and securing cables/equipment.
• Demonstrate reliability to support project schedules.
• Complete required safety/orientation training before starting on site.
