Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking motivated Cable Technicians for a long-term data center build in El Paso, TX. This entry-level opportunity emphasizes hands-on structured cabling experience and safety on a large-scale project.

You will assist senior technicians, pull and route cabling, install trays and racks, and test connections while working onsite on a contract-to-hire basis. OSHA-10 is preferred or can be obtained before start.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of structured cabling experience.
• Experience pulling, routing, and terminating cable.
• Comfort working indoors/outdoors in construction environments.
• Comfortable with ladders and working at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and have reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license and basic hand tools; power tools preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or ability to obtain before start.

Responsibilities

• Pull and route network and communications cabling.
• Assist experienced technicians with structured cabling installations.
• Transport materials within the project site.
• Install cable trays, wireways, racks, and patch panels.
• Build telecom closets and install supporting hardware.
• Terminate and test cabling connections.
• Use hand and power tools safely; climb ladders as needed.
• Support fiber optic and copper cabling installations.
• Follow safety procedures and project standards.
