Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Gallatin, TN is seeking an experienced Cable Technician to decommission, install and troubleshoot data center cabling. You will work with Cat5/Cat6, fiber optics, patch panels and test equipment such as VFL, OTDR and Fluke Versiv 5000 to ensure high-quality, compliant work.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, read blueprints, and support continuous improvement while maintaining data center cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in-depth knowledge of Cat5/Cat6.
• 3+ years in network cabling and test equipment (VFL, power meters, OTDR).
• Experience with cabling best practices and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
• Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
• Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
