Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical in Lithia Springs, Georgia is seeking a full-time BIM Engineer-Data Center to lead and coordinate BIM development for large-scale mission-critical projects.

You will manage 3D BIM models of electrical systems, supervise model setup and file structures, perform clash detection, produce shop drawings, and support procurement with BOM validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years BIM coordination, detailing or engineering in electrical construction, data centers preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and related BIM software.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and constructability for large projects.
• Experience with clash detection and coordination meetings.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and coordination of 3D BIM models for electrical systems and components.
• Oversees model setup, file structure, and version control per standards.
• Collaborates with BIM Modelers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and constructability.
• Performs clash detection reviews and communicates resolutions to teams.
• Produces shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built models.
• Generates BOMs and quantities from BIM models for procurement and controls.
• Supports BIM execution planning and compliance with standards.
• Interfaces with engineers and construction teams to translate design intent.
• Assists in developing BIM workflows, templates, and best practices.
• Provides mentorship and technical support to BIM Modelers.
