Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking a full-time BIM Engineer-Data Center to lead BIM coordination for large-scale mission-critical projects, interfacing with engineers and field teams to ensure constructible designs that meet client requirements.

The role requires 3–5 years' BIM coordination experience in electrical construction (data centers preferred), with advanced skills in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, and a strong eye for detail and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• 3–5 years BIM coordination, detailing, or engineering in electrical construction; data center experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and related BIM software.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, conduit routing, and constructability on large-scale projects.
• Experience with clash detection, coordination meetings, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to interpret and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and design markups.
• Excellent attention-to-detail, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and coordination of 3D BIM models for electrical systems and components.
• Oversees model setup, file structure, and version control in alignment with BIM standards.
• Collaborates with BIM Modelers and other disciplines to ensure model accuracy and constructability.
• Performs clash detection reviews and communicates resolutions to design and field teams.
• Produces and reviews shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built models.
• Generates and validates BOMs and quantities from BIM to support procurement and controls.
• Supports BIM execution planning and ensures compliance with standards.
• Interfaces with project engineers to translate design intent into coordinated models.
• Assists in developing BIM workflows, templates, and best practices.
• Provides mentorship and technical support to BIM Modelers.
